Should Breathalizers on all autos be mandatory?
There are many questions arising concerning the subject of breathalizers. In fact, the question pertaining to whether or not breathalizers should be on all cars is striking a lot of debates. When these machines were first introduced to the public they were only required for people that had been convicted of drunk driving to have in their vehicles. However, now a lot of manufacturers are agreeing that putting these machines in every vehicle is the best route to take.
These devices are designed to where the person that is operating a vehicle will be required to blow some air into a tube. The tube is connected to a device that determines the amount of alcohol that is present in a persons system. If they have exceeded the allocated amount of alcohol allowed for their system to register, their vehicle will not start or it will lock up making it impossible for them to drive.
It is humorous to some people that manufacturers would even consider putting these on every vehicle that they make. But a lot of concerned citizens and organizations against drunk driving are in favor of these machines being put into every vehicle that is purchased from a car dealer.
For some people, the thought of having one of these machines in their vehicles seems acceptable. There are other people that argue that having one of these machines in the vehicles of everyone is unconstitutional.
There are a lot of states that have mandated that if someone is convicted of a DWI or DUI they will be obligated to obtain one of these machines. The machines are typically used in order to ensure that people that have already been convicted of drunk driving will not commit the same offense again.
Every single year, there are thousands of people that are killed due to a drunk driver. If everyone had one of these machines in their vehicles, the number of people that die as a result of drunk driving will diminish immensely; thus, making the roads a safer place for everyone.
Even though there are still presently a lot of debates that have to be settled on the decision to implement that all vehicles have breathalyzers inside of them, the possibility is becoming a lot more likely. Not only will these machines cut back on the amount of people that die on the account of a drunk driver, but it will also enforce the drunk driving laws throughout the entire world.
